30
day trial
Download a 30 day trial version of Podium and see for yourself
just how easy it is to create, edit and publish podcasts.
To publish your podcasts to the Internet, so that anyone
with Internet access can subscribe and listen to them, you
will need hosting space to
store your podcasts. If you don’t
have a hosting facility set up already, we’ll provide
you with this absolutely FREE in conjunction
with your 30 day trial of the software. All you need to do
is email us here and
we will send you further details, together with a username
and password. Your podcasts will be saved for 30 days. If
you want to save the MP3 file recordings you have made for
future use, we recommend you do this separately.
It’s also possible to host your podcasts locally,
i.e. to keep your podcasts within your school.
However, podcast aggregators such as iTunes are made to subscribe to podcast that are resident on a web server. Each situation is different, but in broad terms you will need to:
1. Run a web server, such as tomcat, and a FTP server, such as Filezilla.
2. Enter the FTP server details into the FTP section of Podium Options so that you upload the podcast file to the correct folder of your FTP server for your web server so it can distribute your podcast to your aggregator
We would advise you to talk with your systems/network administrator if you wish to host locally to find a solution that best fits your circumstances.
