About Podium

Podium is a PC based application suitable for all ages.

What is Podium?

Podium is a PC based application designed for educational use across the curriculum. It enables users to create, edit and publish audio and video podcasts all from the same simple interface, meaning that pupils do not have to work with a number of different software packages in order to podcast in lessons.

Buy Podium herePodcasting with Podium is so easy, pupils are able to receive a brief, create, edit and publish their audio or video podcasts all during one lesson! Podium’s fantastic scripting tool also enhances group working as pupils can create scripts together and assign dialogue to different members of the group, so that when they begin recording, they each know whose turn it is to speak. It’s as easy as ‘3,2,1 record!’.

With the ability to now create audio, video and podcasts with multi-tracks with Podium, you can make your podcasts sound more professional than ever before!

e-Safety

Ever thought about using podcasting to integrate ICT across the curriculum?

Podcasts can be used in lots of different ways for lots of different purposes. Here are five simple ideas to get you going:

  1. Inclusion
A pupil has broken his leg and is at home for a while – podcast to him while he is away, and get the class to contribute too, so that he is kept in the loop with what is happening socially and curriculum-wise.

  2. Invites speakers
If you go to the trouble, and sometimes expense, of having speakers or exciting people in your school, then record them (with their permission) and podcast it for those not able to be there, for parents to listen to and to save into an archive for the future.

  3. Revision materials
Get your students to make their own video or sound recordings of things they will need to learn for tests or exams and then podcast for everyone to hear. The wider the audience, the more care they will take with the preparation, content and production.

  4. Video podcast of drama
Many drama sessions in school end up with no record of the enthusiasm and excitement of what was produced. It would be excellent to video podcast a series or set of drama scenarios so that the students could peer review their techniques and styles.

  5. Showcase language learning
Producing podcasts purely in a foreign language is a great incentive for students to polish their foreign language learning. Podcasting could also be a great aid when it comes to learning the language too.
